Branch Change Facility
Students may apply for change of branch after first year based on merit and seat availability. The policy follows AICTE norms and institute regulations.
Overview
The institute permits branch change for eligible students after completion of the first year (two semesters). This policy is designed to help students align their engineering discipline with their evolving interests, aptitude, and career goals. The branch change is strictly merit-based and subject to vacancy in the desired branch.
All branch change applications are processed by the Academic Committee and finalized before the commencement of the third semester. Students must maintain a clean academic record and no disciplinary action.

| Discipline | No disciplinary action or ragging complaint registered against the student. |
| Seat Availability | Vacancy in the desired branch after first year lateral entry adjustments. |
| Reservation | Institute follows reservation norms as per AICTE/State policy for branch change as well. |
Notice & Form
Notification is released in June/July. Students download application form from the Academic Office.
Submit Application
Fill the form, attach marksheets, and submit to HOD of current department.
Merit List
Committee prepares merit list based on first year SGPA.
Approval & Counselling
Selected students are called for counselling and branch allotment.
- Branch change is allowed only once during the entire course of study.
- Change of branch is permitted only after the first year (before 3rd semester).
- Students who have changed branch cannot request another change.
- The total number of seats in the receiving branch cannot exceed sanctioned intake.
- Lateral entry students (diploma holders) are not eligible for branch change.
- In case of tie in SGPA, the student with higher JEE Main / OJEE rank will be preferred.
- All branch change decisions by the committee are final and binding.
- Duly filled branch change application form.
- Photocopy of first year marksheets (Sem I & II).
- Student ID card copy.
- No-dues certificate from library & department.
- Fee receipt of current academic year.
