About ISTE – Technical Renaissance

Established in 2005, the ISTE Students’ Chapter at St. James College of Engineering is one of the most active chapters in the region. With over 300+ student members and 40+ faculty life members, we conduct technical fests, certified courses, coding marathons, and industry mentorship programs. Our mission is to enhance the quality of technical education and produce industry-ready engineers.

Hackathons & Skill Intensives

ISTE brings intense 24–48 hour hackathons, AI/ML bootcamps, and IoT workshops that challenge students to solve real-world problems. Our flagship event "TechNovum" witnesses 500+ participants across the region. We also provide certificate courses in Python, Cybersecurity, and Data Science in collaboration with industry experts, giving students a competitive edge in placements.

Faculty Development & Research Conclaves

ISTE strongly focuses on upgrading pedagogical skills. We organize national seminars, FDPs on Outcome-Based Education, and research paper writing workshops. Our annual "Research Conclave" brings together renowned academicians and encourages faculty to publish in Scopus/WoS indexed journals. This holistic growth directly enhances student learning experiences.

Industry 4.0 & Placement Readiness

ISTE acts as a bridge between campus and corporate. Regular guest lectures by CXOs, mock placement drives, resume workshops, and soft skill training are integral to our chapter. We also facilitate industrial visits to companies like Bosch, Tech Mahindra, and L&T. Our dedicated placement cell under ISTE has helped increase the placement percentage by 35% in core branches.
